Our Letter of Appeal
You Aren't Homeless if You Are Reading This
Dear Friends:
We want to say “thank you” to the extremely generous response for the Community Housing Services (CHS) food cupboard. Our food supply has increased almost overnight and donors are still bringing food.
We have another equally important need. Our "financial cupboard" is practically bare. The nations’ economic crisis is devastating America's social service agencies. All funding in the non-profit sectors has decreased or vanished, therefore our financial resources have dwindled. At the same time, we are seeing more and more people with dire needs.
Many of you reading this at the beginning of the holiday season might remember when you may have been one paycheck away from being homeless. Fortunately, you made it through. Undoubtedly, you have thought of what it would be like if you hadn't made ends meet. Those nightmares are real. At Community Housing Services, we keep the lights on to help chase those bad dreams away.
This is important. An entire population depends on the services we provide. Until now, the homeless have been invisible in our community. However, shelter space is in short supply and winter is approaching. The consequences of doing nothing to help our neighbors in need is unthinkable.
Who depends on our services? Anyone from a tiny infant to a disabled senior needs our help. Without CHS, a crucial lifeline will be lost and the homeless will be in a state of crisis.
A donation could keep a little boy warm in January, help pay a doctor bill, buy gas for a mother to get to work, or feed a child. Any gift of $5.00, $25.00, $50.00, or $100.00 will be gratefully received.
Generosity is the greatest kindness. Be the one a little girl or boy will be thankful is there. Give to Community Housing Services.
Please have a safe and wonderful holiday
